Mt. Whitney Mountaineer's Route

Trip Description:
Hike up the North Fork of Lone Pine Creek to the Mountaineer's Route on Whitney.  Traverse the Whitney -Russell Ridge and climb the south face, right side of Russell.  Descend via the Whitney-Russell ridge and camp at UBS.  Hike out the next morning.

As usual things don't always go as planned.  We did summit Mt. Whitney via the Mountaineer's Route.  It was my third attempt in the last 2 years.  The two previous times I was turned back by the weather.  We summitted Whitney and Muir, but saved Russell for another day.
