EMAIL: %%%%% - Sarah Pictures Here are some pictures from my trip to Mt. Shasta last weekend. It is quick and dirty right now. However, I'm working on a new web design which might be operational by the end of the week. http://www.blueskygirl.com/SDH Sarah %%%%% -Marmots Anybody else find a hitchhiker in their car when they got home like these guys did up in Washington? http://www.zymosis.com/chelan2001/marmot.html Bill AA6J %%%%% - another group Here's another trip report from someone else (or was it one of you) who climbed White Mountain last weekend. http://www.thebackcountry.org/whitemountain/ Bill AA6J %%%%% - yes, we saw him Bill - This guy hiked up the same day we did...you can see Sarah and John and Geoff in one of the pictures on the summitt. He must have been coming down when our party was coming up. Cool! Nice photos. Colleen %%%%% - yes, I saw him Well Bill, I can see my pack at the summit, and remember seeing those two guys sitting on the roof. So it must have been someone that hiked up at the same time we did. I took a bunch of pictures, and they are pretty much the same as were posted on the link you referenced. However, I don't think he (his name was Mike) was actually in our group. Maybe I'm wrong, since I only met a lot of the people in our group the evening before. Bernie Lafreniere, N6FN %%%%% - Snow and thanks Yes, we had Snow, lightning and thunder on the longest day of the year, summer solstice in the radical White Mountains! Details will be provided soon, but suffice it to say that Stan, in his usual charismatic way, drew together a very rich diversity of adventuresome souls; everything from a few wild-card-fringe- types to several shining examples of solid, All American citizenry. No matter which segment of the group I drifted in to on the High Trail, it was a time of high intrigue. I had a great time experiencing High Altitude Hypoxic Euphoria (HAHE), meeting new friends, exploring new territory, and redefining old friendships. Many TKS Stan, for making it all happen! -- John KT6E LINKS: http://www.totalescape.com/active/campstuff/NF/ancient.html http://www.totalescape.com/active/campstuff/NF/inyo.html http://www.sonic.net/bristlecone/non-Netscape/WhiteMts.html http://www.google.com/search?q=+backpacking+white+mt+peak+california&hl=en&start=10&sa=N http://www.hoodmountainadventures.com/mtn.html http://www.wmrs.edu/Telecommunications/whtmtnLAN.htm http://www.wmrs.edu/ricksweb/Tucker/TuckerWMP.htm http://www.summitpost.com/mountains/photo_query.pl?object_id=38&sort_by=s http://www.r5.fs.fed.us/inyo/vvc/bcp/hikewtmt.htm http://www.totalescape.com/active/campstuff/NF/ancient.html http://www.totalescape.com/active/campstuff/NF/inyo.html http://www.hoodmountainadventures.com/mtn.html http://www.wmrs.edu/Telecommunications/whtmtnLAN.htm http://www.wmrs.edu/ricksweb/Tucker/TuckerWMP.htm http://www.summitpost.com/mountains/photo_query.pl?object_id=38&sort_by=s http://www.topozone.com/map.asp?z=11&n=4165093&e=388107&size=m&symshow=n&u=2 http://www.r5.fs.fed.us/inyo/vvc/bcp/hikewtmt.htm http://www.topozone.com/print.asp?z=11&n=4162816&e=394044&size=m&u=1 |
