Week 57  June 25 - July 1, 2000
6/25/00 -- Only 32 days until Oshkosh
The initial test flight might be delayed due to engine shipment problems.   Trimmed the rough edges from the cowling.

6/26/00
Located cowling on the airplane.  Temporarily fastened it into place and drilled rivet holes.

6/27/00
Worked on the mold for the firewall.  Constructed a foam template, which will be used as a surface to lay the fiberglass against.

6/28/00
We were assured by Hirth that the engine will be shipped from Germany by the end of the week.  Laid fiberglass around the firewall mold.  Cut the cowling into two pieces.

6/29/00
Mated the cowling and the firewall using epoxy.  Began initial trimming on the firewall to avoid chafing on the airframe.

6/30/00
Do nothing day.

7/1/00
Sanded the front cowling to match the shape of the rear cowling.
