Week 54  June 4-10, 2000
6/4/00 -- Only 53 days until Oshkosh
Nate started laying glass on the cowling.  Ever forgetful as he has become in his hurried attempt to complete this aircraft, he ran out of epoxy.

6/5/00
While waiting for the epoxy to arrive by mail he began working on the rudder.  Then he ran out of aluminum rivets.

6/6/00
As one thing leads to another he began stitching the vertical stabilizer.  He would make quite the seamstress.  Next he began painting the rudder and elevator.

6/7/00
Things are moving smoothly now because the epoxy arrived and he got to the store before they closed to pick up the rivets.  The first layer of glass is now dried over the Styrofoam.

6/8/00
Nate asked me, the engineer, over to help glass the cowling. Things went well and the second coat of glass was applied. Dope was applied to the ailerons.

6/9/00
We spent Friday evening sanding down the second layer of glass.

6/10/00
The third and final layer of fiberglass was applied and sanded down. The first layer of filler was placed over the fiberglass. What a busy day!
